Wayne Byrne

Wayne Byrne has been recruited in to lead the business into its phase of commercial operations and help deliver the funding requirements needed to complete delivery of our build program. Wayne joins BioPower from Manvik where he was Group Managing Director of Manvik Environmental Limited, the holding company for Manvik's business interests in the UK and Ireland. Manvik is a market leader in the supply of Refuse vehicles and waste equipment in the municipal sector. Wayne was one of the founders of the Group entity and recently was involved in successfully selling his interest in the business.

Prior to joining Manvik, Wayne headed up the Public Sector practice for SAP. He was responsible for SAP's business development by providing finance and HR solutions to large government and municipal authorities. Wayne holds an International Executive Masters in Business Administration from Smurfit College of Business, University College Dublin (UCD) and a Diploma in Advanced Management from UCD and is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Waste Management

Frank Coombes

Frank is an experienced corporate finance advisor in the Environmental Sector. with over 15 years corporate finance experience, gain while working in a variety sectors in both industry and practice. Frank is the founder of Coombes Corporate Finance Ltd.

Evan Dolan

Evan Dolan will head up our group finance function and support the various BioParks as they move into the commercial phase. Evan also joins us form Manvik Environmental Limited. He joined them in November 2007 when he was appointed as Group Finance Director. Evan had overall responsibility for the finances of Manvik Group and its subsidiaries throughout Ireland and the UK.

Prior to joining Manvik Evan worked with the ethical fashion design and distribution business, Edun Apparel where he was financial controller for two years. Before that Evan worked for four years with the Irish Continental Group.  Evan has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from University College Dublin (UCD). Following qualification Evan trained to be a chartered accountant at leading professional services firm KPMG in Dublin.

Peter Carey

Peter Carey is being recruited in to head up UK operations. Peter is a senior executive with over 15 years experience in environmental management with focus on waste and renewable energy.  Peter has worked with Bedminster International, as General Manager, Ireland; Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as EPA Regional Inspectorate; and M.C.O Sullivan & Co Ltd as Development Engineer. He has extensive experience of interpreting and applying national and EU legislation and proven ability in instigating and managing all aspects of projects.

Peter is Chartered Civil Engineer and a member of the Chartered Institution of Waste Management.  He has Masters in Business Administration (MBA), Smurfit School of Business, UCD; MSc, DIC in Environmental Engineering, Imperial College of Science & Technology, London 1994; MEngSc in Geotechnical Engineering University College Galway; and BE (1st Class Hons) in Civil Engineering, University College Galway. 

Declan Murray

Declan Murray is being recruited in to head up the Irish operation. Declan also comes from Manvik Ireland Ltd. where he has been Managing Director since 2007. In this role Declan is responsible for implementing strategic procedures and systems that will ensure Manvik Ireland maintains its leading position in the Irish waste management sector. Prior to joining Manvik Declan was the senior operations manager with Dublin Bus, where he worked for 20 years.

Declan has a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Smurfit Business School at University College Dublin (UCD), a Diploma in Advanced Management from UCD, and a Certificate in Public Sector Management from the Institute of Public Administration in Dublin.

Tim Clarke

Tim joined BioPower in 2008 and is presently leading the planning & design team in Ireland. Tim had previously run a successful consulting practice for over 10 years specialising in sustainable waste, water and biomass energy systems. This included process and system design for new AD projects, feasibility studies, and licensing. Clients include private, industrial and engineering companies, and government departments in UK and Ireland. Tim also has extensive experience of design, installation and operation of reedbed and wetland wastewater treatment systems, and compost plant.

Prior to that Tim spent 10 years in developing new systems and processes at leading UK digester company FarmGas Ltd in the 1980’s, he was a founding director of a new company, Environmental Energy Ltd, designing and supplying subcontract digester systems of his design in various EU countries. He has designed a large number of digesters for treatment of wastes including municipal solid wastes, sewage sludge, industrial wastes and animal manures. Two of his research projects have been supported by the UK department of Trade and Industry. The first in 1986, a project demonstrating anaerobic digestion of meat-industry wastes; and a successful 2-year project 1995-6 DEMOS, demonstration of high-solids digestion of municipal solid wastes.

Tim has a Masters in Biology (M.Sc) from Auckland University, New Zealand, and B.Sc from St Andrews University, Scotland. He has over 25 years experience of development, design and implementation of anaerobic digestion processes and projects for treatment and energy recovery from a wide variety of liquid and semi-solid wastes including livestock wastes, municipal, food and industrial wastes, and crops/crop wastes.

Jeremy Scott Bolton

Jeremy joined BioPower in 2008 and is presently leading the planning & design team in the UK.   After completing a two year Diploma in Biodiversity Components of Forestry at UCC ( Cork University ) where he graduated with a Distinction.  He has worked extensively around Ireland carrying out Environmental Studies and Environmentally Enhanced Landscaping Projects. Jeremy has played an active roll in a number of successful planning applications for factory sites, both with the Environmental Impact Statements and the Landscape Design and any Mitigation's to offset such development. 

Tony Dineen

Tony is supporting the Planning & Design team. Tony is a Graduate with Honours Degree in Civil and Structural Engineering, Cork Institute of Technology 2007. Tony's final year project was on Building Energy Rating.
