Dónall Ó Laoire BL, Chairman of the Board of Directors, is a practicing barrister and a specialist in environmental law. He has published two important books on environmental legislation; 'Inland Waters', Butterworth, 1995 and 'Waste Management Legislation', Round Hall, 2001.

Walter Ryan-Purcell BAgr Sc, MMII Grad, is the Managing Director and founder of the company. Walter studied Business Management under the DEBI Programme at Boston College, U.S.A., and completed the Shannon Development Entrepreneurship Programme. He co-founded a successful industrial composting business, McGill Environmental Systems (Ireland) Ltd., from 1997 to 2005. The company established three factories in Munster, and two composting operations in Cork and Meath. Previous to this, he developed Dairy Hygiene Services Limited, a successful milk testing laboratory to improve milk quality. He sold this business to Newfield, a group of agricultural consultants, in 1995. Before this, Walter was employed by Pearson International Dairy Engineering as Marketing Manager. He is also a Director of the Association for the Study of Peak Oil and Gas.

Dr. Colin Campbell PhD is a Geologist with substantial oil industry experience. He is a leading researcher on peak oil. His work has been extensively published worldwide, and his articles have stimulated lively debate. His provocative views carry the weight of a wide international experience. After being awarded a D Phil at Oxford in 1957, Dr. Campbell joined the oil industry as an exploration geologist. His career took him to Borneo, Trinidad, Colombia, Australia, Papua New Guinea, the U.S.A., Ecuador, United Kingdom, Ireland, and Norway. He is now dedicated to researching the date and impact of the peak and decline of world oil production, and to raising awareness of the serious consequences of a global shortage. He has published extensively.

Dr. Bernard Rice BE, MEngSc, MIE is a leading Teagasc researcher based at the Crops Research Centre, Oak Park, Carlow. He has managed the Teagasc programme on BioFuel production and processing for the past fifteen years. This has included BioDiesel production from a variety of feed stocks, quality monitoring of BioDiesel and pure plant oil, and vehicle trials with both fuels. Recently, the programme has been extended to the pre-treatment and combustion of energy crops and residues such as willows, miscanthus grass, cereal grains, cereal straw and canola straw. He has represented Ireland on the Liquid BioFuels Task of the International Energy Agency, and has co-ordinated and participated in many EU programmes and actions.

Tim Clarke BSc, MSc is a consultant specialising in sustainable waste, water and Biomass energy systems. Tim first started work in the field of anaerobic digestion in the UK in 1983, and subsequently founded a successful company supplying digesters throughout Europe. In 1996 he moved to Ireland and founded WasteWorks, which provided consultancy services in sustainable waste and water treatment systems. Projects include detailed process and design of BioDigestion systems for treatment of a wide variety of wastes; design and supply of reed bed wastewater treatment systems and local authority licence and planning applications. Recent clients include the UK Dept of Trade & Industry, engineering companies, County Councils and private companies in the UK and Ireland.
Michael Griffin

Michael has a well established sales expertise in both the oil and food industries, and also farms land in Castledermot, Co. Kildare. He has recently been appointed as National Sales Manager for Cappoquin Poultry.
Michael Holland
Director
Michael runs a large scale tillage farm in East Cork. His practical experience as a grower of oil seed is is an asset which is valued by the company.

Peter Carey BE, MEngSc, MSc DIC, MBA, CEng, MIEI, MCIWM is acting as a Technical Consultant to BioPower Ltd. He is a Chartered Civil Engineer with an MBA in Business Administration from UCD, and master degrees in Environmental and Geotechnical Engineering. Peter has 15 years experience in the environmental management business, including 7 years with the Environmental Protection Agency and has extensive experience in the interpretation and application of Irish, British and EU legislation. In 2004 he joined Bedminster International as General Manager of their Irish division. Bedminster developed a mechanical biological treatment system to convert municipal solid waste and sludge to compost. Prior to this, he was Senior Inspector for the Dublin Region of the Environmental Protection Agency. Before he joined the EPA he worked as a Development Engineer for RPS, a leading provider of services for the development and management of natural resources and the environment. He now works as an independent Environmental and Energy consultant.

Frank Coombes BComm, FCA is a Corporate Finance Consultant who has developed an expertise in the environmental finance sector in Ireland and the United Kingdom. In 2007, he managed the sale of Clearpoint Recycling as a going concern, and led a major acquisition of a Scottish waste management company with significant interests throughout the United Kingdom. Apart from his financial consultancy, Frank also prepares business plans, projections and strategies for start-up waste and renewable energy companies. He has also played a key role in the start-up and development of a number of waste and energy companies in Wales.

Bill is marketing executive and advisor to BioPower Group plc.
In the past Bill successfully managed Universal Steel Supplies Ltd. for a number of years before moving on to establish other business. In more recent years Bill has developed a distribution network for environmentally friendly products. Also over the past few years Bill has been a member and investor in a well established International Property management company.
Jack Zagar

Jack has thirty-two years experience in North Sea, Middle East, Gulf of Mexico, West Africa, and onshore U.S.A. operations in petroleum reservoir engineering and reservoir management; economic evaluations of projects, property trades, and asset sales; and corporate planning. Twenty two years were with Exxon Corporation and Exxon U.S.A. The last ten years Mr. Zagar has been engaged as an independent engineering consultant.
Jack is also an associate of MHA Petroleum Consultants of Golden, Colorado and is partnered with noted author and world oil reserve expert, Dr. Colin J. Campbell.
Jeremy Gilbert

Jeremy is the recently retired Chief Petroleum Engineer from British Petroleum (BP) where he was responsible for the company's worldwide petroleum engineering performance and associated research and development programme. He joined BP in 1964, worked as a production engineer in Libya and then helped introduce the new technique of reservoir simulation into BP. He worked in Abu Dhabi and Kuwait before spending nine years in Iran. From 1979, he supervised BP's North Sea reservoir engineering and later managed all BP's UK petroleum and reservoir engineering activities. He spent a period in San Francisco, responsible for BP's interests in the giant Alaskan Prudhoe Bay and Kuparuk fields. In subsequent posts, he worked on a range of staff development, equity and major legal issues in London, Houston and Anchorage.

John is a seasoned Manufacturing Executive with almost thirty years experience in Fine Chemicals Processing, Fermentation and Related Industries. In the early stages of his career he held leading Production Management positions with Pfizer in Ireland before joining ADM in 1990. During his career at ADM he assumed increasing levels of responsibility as a Plant Manager, Divisional Manufacturing V.P. of Fermentation Products and most recently, for a five year period, he served as V.P. and Director of Group Operations based at the Corporate Headquarters in Decatur, Illinois with overall responsibility for the Company's Corn Processing, Bio-products and Food Additives Manufacturing Divisions which included the largest Ethanol and Corn Sweetener production capacity in the U.S.A. and worldwide.
John graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Chemical Engineering in 1974 and a Ph.D. in 1978 both from The Queens University of Belfast, Northern Ireland and he is a Fellow of The Institution of Chemical Engineers.
